The 2nd Aircraft Airworthiness & Sustainment Conference is jointly sponsored by NASA, FAA, and DOD and succeeds the series of twelve Joint Conferences on Aging Aircraft. The Aging Aircraft Conferences addressed the safety of legacy aircraft operating near or beyond their original design service goal.
The Aircraft Airworthiness and Sustainment Conference expands the scope to consider the entire fleet life cycle; legacy aircraft with materials and designs of yesterday, new aircraft entering the fleet with advanced materials and structures, and development of sustainment technology for next-generation aircraft (improved materials, structures, systems, and processes). The conference is being held at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront on 18-21 April 2011.
In conjunction with our co-authors from National Instruments, NDT Solutions and Boeing, Diagnostic Sonar has a presentation entitled "Real-Time Ultrasonic Array Imaging using Full Matrix Capture and the Total Focusing Method" in the Inspection for Manufacturing and Repair Session on 21 April at 16:30.
The paper and presentation are both now available for download in .pdf format and a narrated version of the presentation, complete with animations will soon be available. Please contact our office for more information.
NDT Solutions (booth 605) will be exhibiting the new FlawInspecta Toolbox suite of hardware and software modules for phased arrays that is discussed in the presentation. Based around the National Instruments 32 channel ultrasonic digitizer (NI-5752), the Toolbox modules are able to perform Full Matrix Capture / Total Focusing Method imaging at real-time rates, as well as conventional beamforming.
