However they can also offer significant inspection speed and cost improvements without any loss in sensitivity to small flaws that "paintbrush" probes exhibit. DSL has developed a range of SMART ARRAY modules specifically to work with existing ultrasonic instruments. |

The MLA is a wideband array with integrated pulser-receivers and multiplexers which can have up to 256 beams in the normal 128mm wide inspection length.
