Aerospace Testing Expo - Europe 2006

Aerospace Testing Expo returns to Europe at Hamburg's Messe from 4th to 6th April 2006. It follows the same successful format used for the last three years in and features an Aero NDT zone and NDT Technology forum. DSL is exhibiting in the AeroNDT zone (Stand 144) and amongst the products will be DSL's FlawInspecta family of real-time phased array imaging products. The RAF's Non-Destructive Evaluation Team will be providing live NDT demonstrations and their Andscan+FlawInspecta system will be demonstrated on a selection of composite samples. They are also doing a major presentation entitled "Area Scanning Activity on Eurofighter Typhoon". DSL is also doing a joint presentation with QinetiQ Ltd on 4th April (10:40-11:00) in the NDT Technology forum entitled "Novel Applications of Ultrasonic Arrays for Aerospace NDT". The presentation is available for download in pdf format or alternatively as a zipfile containing a narrated powerpoint presentation. The outline of this presentation is: "Ultrasonic arrays are now becoming common in NDT but most uses are restricted to B-scan imaging or for speeding up inspections. Novel techniques, such as Full Waveform Capture (FWC) and Full Raw Data (FRD) Acquisition and Processing, are showing considerable potential for aerospace applications including 2nd layer crack detection and are now moving from the lab to the field. The presentation will outline the state of the art and use practical examples to demonstrate the potential benefits.".
